So yesterday was the dreaded, Lylah’s dental work day. What a fiasco that was. Lylah was being put to sleep for dental work because this poor child would not even let the dentist look in her mouth or clean her teeth, and she had cavities that needed to be filled. So we signed her up for “moonlight” dentistry. Where they put the child to sleep, do the dental work and then ta-da all done. I like this idea because it keeps them from having fears of dentist (like I have).Yes it is a little more risky because they are under anesthesia. So they are not supposed to eat or drink after midnight.. no problem, I figured we would have a morning appointment, I can handle this. No, they call and tell me my appointment is for 12:30PM. Umm.. yea, no, that is not going to fly.. so by the time she eats it will almost be dinner time? I called at 9:30am because she had already stated “I am so hungry my tummy is growling like a bear” they told us to go in at 10:30.. Thank goodness! She was given her giggle juice (this is what I call it, it makes them act semi-drunk and silly because they feel good and it keeps them from having memories of going into the OR) She has had giggle juice before and I was totally prepared this time. Last time I cried my eyes out watching my 2 year old acting drunk.

“An ELEVATOR MOMMY. I gonna go in the elevator”(there were no elevators)
“Give me your fingers, I gonna bite your nails and your bad fingers”
“I like to bounce. There is the blanket fridge. I love you momma”
Those were all the “happy” moments. The dentist took out her two front loose teeth that she was having anxiety over, so we were happy the tooth fairy was going to come! A little concerned because the adult teeth are already growing in, but they are too far back, we are hoping time will help to correct itself. The not so happy moments. Watching your child cry and not being able to help, nothing you do helps, only to discover she woke up as they were taking the breathing tube out of her nose. 😦 Yea kiddo, I would be sad too and scared. So we left there and the crying continued in the car for most of the ride home, then we had some silly talk. Little by little the Lylah I know and love came back to us. And them we went out with my friend Heidi and Lyz and the rest of the clan to see some amazing Christmas lights and the girls finally got to see Santa (I feel like such a bad mom because they hadn’t seen him yet)

The girls with Avery and Delany. A and Kay are around the same age and D and Ly are around the same age. They had fun together 🙂
I finished the teacher ornaments last night and got them ready to go to school with the girls today. Tonight we will be working on school bus candy bars for all the bus drivers!
