I have been meaning to get back to blogging for quite some time, and I just keep putting it off. I started writing in a journal for a while and even that slowed and then came to a halt. As you get older, your circle of friends gets smaller, or perhaps even nonexistent. Don’t get my wrong, I have some friends, but they live so far away I barely get to see them and keeping in touch doesn’t always happen, so I need an outlet of sorts.
The school year is only 19 days away (how crazy is that?!), Kayleigh will be *sniffle* going into 3rd Grade this year with Mr Paul, and Lylah… well, I am a little unsure about her at the moment. She is currently enrolled in a half-day preK program, but there has been a new full-day class that opened up at the Hildebrant Center by my house where transportation would also be provided, so I am trying to get her into there. Also, she is going for her evaluation on the 27th to find out what is going on in that tiny brain of hers! I am actually excited to hopefully get some answers so we know what we can do to help, because living with Lylah is almost near impossible.
(background info) Lylah is almost 5 years old and she has these uncontrollable fits that can last anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour and a half! You never know what is going to start one, you never know when one will stop. She has recently escalated to throwing things, hitting herself (or others) and banging her head on the wall. The Dr kept telling me this was all normal toddler behavior (maybe they forgot that I do have an older child and I have been thru this already?) FINALLY the visit for her school physical, which was with a different doctor, he agreed that there was something going on and we need to investigate. So… We shall see, I have my fingers crossed we get answers, not because I want my child diagnosed with something, but more because I feel it will be closure, and also will help us to identify what we can do to help her!
Other than that, we are all happy and healthy and trying to enjoy what is left of our summer before school kicks back in!
